I have become increasingly keen on architecture through photography. I enjoy many of the older architectural styles and especially rustic subject matter and this has inspired me to make this a real area of passion in my artwork.

I explore this area through an increasing desire to make something intregingly creative and elegant for the wall. I enjoy commission work as much as my own ideas. I enjoy being able to create a portrait of your house to a study of your business premises. An impressive talking point in your foyer or boardroom. Currently I am exploring all aspect of buildings, from the material source through to individual details and grand frontage studies.

In architecture I especially admire the skill of stone masonry. It is incredibly skilled and is three dimensional artwork adorning a building, showing real detail and lasting for hundreds of years. Sadly stone carving is a dying skill and it is unusual to see modern carvings of the same skill as those on many historic buildings.

I hope in my work, to express my admiration for trades such as stone masonry which are now less apparent.
